What Sets Us Apart?
Mastery-Based Learning
No “Swiss Cheese” Education. In a traditional school, you move to the next chapter when the calendar says so—even if you only understood 70% of the material. At KLS, learning is binary: you either have it, or you’re still working on it.
Executive Function & Independence
Learning How to Learn. The brain’s “command center”—the prefrontal cortex—is the most important tool a student has. We don’t just hope students become organized; we teach it as a core academic subject.
Social-Emotional Safety
A Brain in Stress Cannot Learn. Neuroscience shows that when a student feels anxious or anonymous, their brain’s “learning gate” shuts down. We prioritize a culture of belonging to keep that gate open.
